About Michelle

As a parent of a severely dyslexic son, I understand the stress, shame, and anxiety that students and their parents can experience when these bright, engaging children struggle to learn.

It is my goal to help families discover why their children are having learning difficulties, build their reading and spelling skills, identify strategies for successful learning, and recognize and develop their considerable strengths and gifted areas.

Professional Experience

Education

I have over ten years of experience working with students of all ages who are struggling with reading and spelling. I am also a trained Dyslexia Consultant and Screener, and assist parents and educators in identifying and understanding how to help students who aren't reaching their full potential.

I taught as a bilingual teacher for 7 years in San Francisco. I left the public school setting to teach my own children at home, as well as other homeschool classes. I began my journey in the world of reading and spelling difficulty when my own son was diagnosed with dyslexia.

I graduated from Stanford University and completed the Bilingual Multiple Subjects Credential program at San Francisco State University. I am certified for teaching all levels of the Barton Reading System.
